Lately, we’ve been thinking a lot about what’s ahead—both in our own lives and for SLEEPER as it continues to grow, so it felt natural that our theme for Volume 3 is FUTURISM. As designers we’re often day-dreaming about new ways of seeing, or what the next ‘x’ will look like. For this issue, we sought out ambitious builds, met new perspectives from across the globe, and explored the intersection of car culture and our world of design. But the future is always informed by the past, so alongside the new, you’ll hear from long-standing voices within the car community, with retro-futuristic visuals sprinkled throughout. You’ll find highlights on SSS Motorsports, Peter Luu of RealWheelDeal, and Aussie car enthusiast Dinah Li. Volume 3 is packed with narrative photo-stories and interviews that introduce Edmonton drivers and shops pushing the next generation of car enthusiasts.
